Have an assembly, for sure, but it should be filled with Welsh MPs debating Health, Edu etc while Scots and English (in Westminster) debate equivalent matters in their own chambers. Therefore, you can sack the entire layer of wasters.
If you cut down the bodies, Govermnemt might think twice about interfering in quite so many areas. I am certain that all these layers allow ministers to become even busier bodies.
What do you expect from a bunch of jumped-up local councillors and committee members.
........and you thought Westminster was a farce...........

Hi,
Since the people of Wales resoundingly rejected this childish and costly EU device to emasculate Westminster - no wonder it housed degenerate and ill mannered children - a bit like the EU's corrupt Parliament.
Also do note the people of Wales with a tiny minority of votes and in Monmouthshire where less than 1 in 6 voted for The Welsh Assembly, had the entire corrupt structure dishonestly forced upon them, it is interesting to note that since I registered it as a Ltd. Company the self important little twits working for the EU against the interests of Britain, including both Wales and Monmouthshire, were forced to name it more aptly: The National Ass for Wales which may explain Mandelson, Ron Davies, Chris Bryant and others enthusiasm for the damaging devolved irresponsibility.
Monkeys in silk are monkeys no less and the higher up the tree these monkeys in the National Ass for Wales climb indeed the more you see their Ass!
Making rude hand gestures and giggling and chattering like the insignificant vassals of the EU that they are - they make monkeys of themselves.
The behaviour of the powerless. The schoolkid at the back of the class. The teen with no feeling of self worth.
If he feels he's worthless, we can only agree with his assessment.

Greg L-W [double barrelled eh?] - They don't have law making powers, so what is the problem ? Sure they get paid a lot for doing nothing, but that is better than doing real damage or being out loose on the streets of Cardiff...

Fair play to Davies, he was holding up three fingers - not an obscene gesture I am aware of.

never mind about that see the Lab MP making the obscene gesture right behind Prescott during his excruciating 'tosser' performance? youtube that one
That's Assembly politics for you.
This week they've also been bashing Prince Charles: http://blamerbellbriefs.blogspot.com/2006/11/royal-mess.html
... and, as usual, each other: http://peterblack.blogspot.com/2006/11/debating-queen.html
Really, the standard of debate in the chamber is quite shocking. Still, at least it keeps us awake in the gallery.
Why are they filming a bingo gameshow in the Welsh Assembly ?!

The oafish Bates is bang to rights, though.
What a third rate place this Assembly is.
